Barriers to Entry in the Thai Market
- Contracting with Distributors
Many Japanese companies encounter challenges in establishing networks with distributors in Thailand. Distributors, acting as importers, undertake approval applications, registration procedures, import customs clearance, product storage, logistics, sales and marketing, as well as payment collection. However, negotiations, English contract agreements, and other factors can prolong the time required for contract finalization.
- FDA Application
In Thailand, selling unapproved products domestically is generally prohibited by regulatory authorities. Thai FDA approval applications often involve different categorizations than those in Japan, requiring specific knowledge and experience. Furthermore, applications are conducted in English or Thai, and responses to FDA queries must be addressed. Additionally, certain products may require registration with other departments, such as the Ministry of Industry or the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
- Market Development

Full Agency Service involves agreeing on CIF prices, and we take full authority for sales, including sales and marketing responsibilities.
